According to the recent reports from the various aviation regulatory bodies such as, ICAO, FAA, and EASA, recently airports across the globe are seeing record numbers of passengers. This increase of passengers has led to the skies becoming more and more crowded.
One of the main solutions in preventing mid-air collision and monitoring airspace around the aircraft is a system called Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) or internationally called – ACAS (Airborne Collision Avoidance System). By reducing the risk of mid-air collisions between aircraft, TCAS/ACAS is mandatory for every passenger aircraft, airplanes with a maximum certified take-off mass exceeding 5 700 kg, or airplanes authorized to carry more than 19 passengers. The TCAS system should be implemented into all Full Flight Simulators.
